Hakuna's Fire

About The Project

Action Adventure Stealth Based game. Based on a rivalry between Herbivores and Carnivores in the Village of Daewon, you play as a meerkat: Hakuna, and are in search for the mystical object: The Edan Fire.

The game requires the player to Stealth his way into the enemy territory and do what is necessary for the safety of his village. The cunning lion Ibobesi is extremely eager to stop Hakuna from obtaining this fire and has set up numerous obstacles and puzzles on Hakuna's Path.

Achievements:

• Awarded the FICCI Frames BAF Award 2016 for the Student Game Category.
• Nominated for Nasscom GDC Student Game of the year 2015 as one of the best 5 games.
• Selected as one of the top 20 games by Game Hack at Pocket Gamers Connect India 2016.

My Role

Gameplay Programmer / Systems Designer. Responsible for core gameplay mechanics, AI behaviors, and stealth systems.

This was my first long team-based project with a talented set of designers and artist, creating a pixel art game we were were all very passionate about. As a bonus, we received an award for it. :)
